Hey, Guys. The officials have talked among ourselves about rider turnout, # of entries at all our races. We have to look at this and try to get all our members out to the races. We have to have a good turnout at all tracks, or we face the possibility of loosing our series. At the end of the year, if our turnout is not good enough, the track owners may say that they cannot hold quad only races, and tell us that our choices are either to run again with the dirt bikes (3 classes--including the minis) or no races at all.
I think we can all agree that what we have started, has been a great thing, but we have to have the turnout, to make it profitible for the track owners, and you know, we all understand that. We are faced with higher gas prices, etc, but guys, if any can pool together, we need you all at the races! The races at Cloverdale and Bremen were our biggest races thus far. We need the #'s, we need the competition. We need to grow this series, not only for us, but for all the races that come after us. Quad racers are a big family, we will show that at Warrior, at our 2nd annual Jason Standridge Memorial Race. We are also going to honor Zak Griffin at this race. Lets stick together, beginning at Warrior, to honor these 2 riders, but lets keep our series stronat Croosbones, Chriscross, Chandler Mtn, Estes, Monster Mtn, Big Cedar, Bremem, Millcreek, Double X, and again at Crossbones. The series is in our hands.....Let's Race!!!

I do have a suggestion and please do not take this as me complaining or criticizing in any way, just stating one thing I see and a few others that I have spoke with. Now I know I have not made many races this year due to being gone the whole month of Feb. and other things coming up as well.
As far as the day races go they start pretty early, now if you live around B-ham its not that bad, but when you have to drive 2-4 hrs. to a track that puts you having to get up fairly early. I have spoke with several folks from North Al. and this was there thoughts. Also, I have spoke with several folks as well from East. Tn(where I live) and they had the same to say. We already live 3-4 hrs. from B-ham and then having to be there at 9 for practice puts us having to leave ealry that morning. Agian, this was there reaction to most of the series.
I do remember last year at Cloverdale starting a little later than normal so the folks from B-ham area could have more time to get there. Maybe in the future you guys could maybe start around noon or so for the day races.
Once again guys I am not complaining, just trying to help. I think all of you guys are doing a great thing. Brit, Ronnie, Ken, Coop and whoever else is involved. I also like the idea of spreading the series out more. I know there are alot of tracks in the B-ham area, so you DO have to rely on those. I had my first race last year and like Ken said I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I will do my best to run all of the races my work schedule will allow.
Thanks,
Chris

I agree with the above comments about the early morning starting times. A little later starting time might help with rider turnout.
If you look at some of the most successful Quad only series in the country (TQRA, and the New England Series) you will notice that they share one thing in common. They only race at a limited number of tracks. I think it's easier to please a hand full of track owners than it is to please several of them. I personally would limit the number of tracks that we attend to the ones that are understanding to the fact that this is a new series and realize that it may take a few years to attract the number of riders that the bikes do.
I remember back in 1986 when I started racing in North Georgia, we only had two tracks to race at, that was Calhoun and Tunnel Hill. We were lucky to have 4 or 5 bikes in our class and usually two or three of them were three wheelers. It didnt take long for the word to get out about quad racing in North Georgia and I remember that we had to have two classes to accomadate the more than 20 quad riders that were showing up on a regular basis.
I think this is a great series. You offer a class for every skill level. The rules are fair. I think with a little fine tuning this series will be very successful and if it's given ample amount of time to grow.

Hey Guy's,
This is great feedback and I agree with everyones ideas, and I want to explain a few things, and also let yall know that we will do what we can and need to do to make changes for the better , the reason we start the times we do is because thats usuallly when the motorcycle races start, and no offense but it seems those guys are there an hour before the gates open everytime a M/C race is held, and the track owners are accustomed to it, I believe that we should be able to move up the day race dates a few hours to accomidate the far off riders, and we usually start late anyway, The main reason we go to so many tracks is because of the rider vote we had over the winter and thats what the riders and the staff wanted to do. That has worked good and bad for us, some riders wont go that far to race if a track is too far [but will go to a national 500 miles away] or just cant afford the gas prices or time off work, but we have had new members sign up at every single track. As for the number of races, last year we held 18 races and this season we will have 19, the difference is we decided on 1 series this year, and we are seriously concidering splitting the series this year, have a spring champ, a fall champ, and an overall year champ for those that only want to race for points. We will make a final decision on that soon.
This is a crucial time for our series, all of our members need to understand that we have the only all ATV series around, and we dont want to let it slip away. If we have to return to racing on motorcycle dates then a lot of work, hopes and dreams will have been all for nothing. I know that if we get good rider numbers the sky is the limit on what we can do with this series. It is in the members hands.
As you have seen in the posts for the memorial race, Karen has accumilated several cool items for raffles and door prises for that race, and we have several folks spreading out fliers for the race, so if you are going to make a race, this is the raceto come to, and I hope this will be the turning point of the season. I hope to see everybody at Warrior saturday night. Coop

Thanks to everyone who made our last race a sucess. This weekend, we are going to Cloverdale. Earlier in the year, this particular race was one of our biggest turnouts. after the JS98 race, we have raised the banner. Guys we need you to come out this weekend to support Cloverdale and SEQUADS, every race is always the next big race, meaning our numbers have to there.
I know there is the big national this weekend in GA, these were scheduled after our series was scheduled. I understand some are thinking about going there this weeken, but guys, to keep our series alive and strong, we need to support our series. we will keep this series in mind next year during our planning, as well as all the other suggestions on this forurm. Remember this is your series.

This really is a dire situation people, make no mistake if we dont make steady high turnouts for the rest of the year, we WILL lose our series. and I thank the people that are real troopers. they show up at each race and bring people with them. I understand about gas prices and so on, put we have to pull it together for the sake of our series and all the hard work that has gone into it. I would hate to see the series fall like the DSQRA or any of the others that have fallen victem to short turnout. People please think of the future. You may say I'll make the next race or something of the line, but the hard truth is that there might not be a next race. As ronnie said warrior had a good turnout, if we could maintain that level of participation or get even higher every race, we would establish a permanent series. So people, I understand if a emergency happens that happers your ability to come to a race, but if you can, please come to every one you can, OUR series is on the line.
