    My 700R Raptor

HAHA, no pix yet but some updates. I just got my +1mm 11:1 piston in yesterday from Wiseco and will be takin the engine out of the old frame today. I will just be doin a piston/ported head on it, no cam swap- I dont rev mine high anyway. I will be gettin a Pro Circuit header to go with my DG Bullet slipon and will also get a GYTR filter adaptor and the proper Power Commander to get it to run properly. The new frame is still undecided, I want to take the rear subframe thats made out of aluminum and have it polished like some of the crotch rockets have and just powdercoat the front half thats steel like a candy red color. Dont know if that will happen but thats what Im leanin toward. The new tires Im gonna run are the Kenda Claws 18" rear and 20 front, mainly because I like to be different and Kenda is what I ran on some of my 200Xs back in the day and Im on the loyal side. Rear axle with be an Excalibur(for the same reason) and the front suspension is still up for grabs on what to do there but will be noted later. I will have pix of the quad during the transformation and pix of the mods themselves, including the porting I will do. Wish me luck;-)

porting is tricky and you could loose power  in areas of your power band if you dont know  what your doing  ( just looking out for you)

dont worry man i got last place wraped up

    Re: My 700R Raptor

Thanx for your concern, one reason I like this sport- nice people thats willing to help when they can and give useable advice instead of undermining someone and setting them up to fail(like some sports I used to pertake in). Ive been porting now for about 16 years now, alot here in the last 5 years or so- mostly LSx engine parts that are in late model Camaro/TA/Corvettes(my website www.portsculptor.com ). Just finished a VTEC head for someone a couple of weeks ago:

Cool!  So you are the same as myself.......A car guy that decided to have some fun in the dirt!  I ran a race engine shop that built mainly Ford drag engines and late model circle track engines for several years.  Im an automotive instructor now and I wouldnt trade any of my quads for 5 race cars.Big Smile

    Re: My 700R Raptor

Thanx guys. Like to tinker on stuff thats for sure, gotta since theres so much that can be done and so little funds lol. When I first started street racing as a teen I didnt make much money at my job so I started porting heads to support my habit...I mean hobby. I went to machine school after high school and it went on from there.

    Re: My 700R Raptor

Well I sold my DG muffler and I just ordered full GYTR exhaust and intake parts;-)

Gonna build it up like Yamaha should have to begin with:

    A true 700cc

    11:1 compression

Better intake and exhaust(that they make)

We'll see what she does on the dyno.....soon;-)
